In 2022, I had the opportunity to indirectly work as a consultant for a multinational company in their search for potential European companies to acquire in the packaging industry. After conducting thorough market research and analysis, I was able to identify two companies that aligned with the client's acquisition criteria.
The first company was a leading market player in his field. With a strong presence in their home market and a solid customer base, this well-established company was a valuable acquisition for the client. The acquisition allowed the client to expand their offerings in the industry and to strengthen their position as a provider of high-quality packaging solutions.
The second company was an industrial decoration company, specializing in custom printing, labeling, and spraying solutions for a wide range of industries. They had built a strong reputation for their high-quality work and innovative approaches, and had already made a name for themselves in the industry. The acquisition of this company allowed the client to not only expand their capabilities in the packaging industry, but also to tap into the growing demand for customized packaging solutions, including those with decorative spray finishes.
Throughout the acquisition process, I worked closely with my client to ensure a smooth and successful transition for both the acquiring company and the companies being acquired.
The acquisition of these two companies allowed the client to expand their reach and capabilities in the packaging industry, and the successful integration of the companies has already begun to yield positive results. It was a pleasure to be a part of this exciting project and to contribute to the growth of the final client's business.

SOURCING AND DEVELOPING GLASS JARS IN EUROPE
At the request of an American customer who now buys all his glass jars in China we sourced for him a quality European glass producer to develop 4 sizes of jars. This to have more capacity, less import taxes in the US and more consistent quality. We are developing moulds, special shipping cartons and also special decoration for these jars.
UPDATE 26-01-2021: The first sampels of the 100 ml jar are just approved. Industrial moulds are now being build.
UPDATE 10-05-2021: The first 500.000 jars are produced

NEGOTIATED THE SALE OF A PACKAGING DISTRIBUTOR
As part of my consultancy and advisory services in the field of packaging, I also advise company owners of small and medium sized companies (SME) when they are considering selling their company.
Beginning of February I successfully closed the deal on the sale of the trade fund of the Belgian packaging distributor VD-Pack – old Verreries Dumont based in Seraing Belgium to another Belgian packaging distributor Pontos from Diepenbeek Belgium.
At the request of the owner of VD Pack I started the market analysis in October last year.
My knowledge of the major players and my contacts helped me quickly identifying the most suitable companies to talk with.

SOURCING HAIRDRESSERS CAPES AND GOWNS
In full lockdown period I was asked by a large European player in the field of hairdressers accessories to help them source hairdressers capes which they were usually supplying from China. The supply chain from China was down due to Corona and I found them a European top quality alternative at the Asian price levels they were willing to pay and with delivery times from 1 to 2 weeks after an order; Thet received sampels and orderd the first 10.000 units which were deliverd within 2 weeks. The company is now looking, with my help, into the possibilities to shift more orders from their current Chinese suppliers to European suppliers. They offer short delivery times, top quality products at competive prices and it helps the European distributor to become more sustainable.
